About the Workplace

The Property Unit consists of a property manager, one early-stage project developer, a project manager, two property engineers, four property technicians, and an administrator. We manage over 100,000 square meters of premises, the majority of which are operational facilities such as schools, preschools, and nursing homes. We also have a smaller number of residential apartments. We have our own offices in Skillingaryd, just a stone's throw from the station, which offers good commuting options by both bus and train.

We are looking for someone who is driven to work both strategically and operationally to deliver projects of the highest quality. As a project manager, you will be operationally responsible for several larger projects and will play a key role in driving the projects from start to finish. Responsibilities and Areas of Responsibility

You will be the project manager and, on behalf of the management, be responsible for new construction, renovations, and reinvestment projects. You will work with properties managed by Vaggeryd Municipality. In both budgeting and follow-up work, you will have a significant role. Furthermore, you will be responsible for ensuring that projects are driven forward according to plan in collaboration with management, and you will continuously follow up to guarantee that set goals are achieved.

In your role as project manager, you are expected to lead and coordinate construction projects throughout the entire process – from the preparation of documents to the completed project by:

  • Preparing tender documents and evaluating and procuring consultants, suppliers, and contractors within the framework of investment decisions.
  • Contributing with technical expertise in collaboration with other functions within the municipality.
  • Managing financial follow-up, risk analyses, and quality assurance.
  • Ensuring that projects in the implementation phase are conducted in accordance with timelines, quality goals, and budgets, and monitoring the project to ensure that all participants work towards a common goal.
  • Ensuring that projects are conducted in accordance with Vaggeryd Municipality's strategies and policies.
  • Working with political preparation and project communication to ensure transparency and participation.

Your Profile

Your experience and qualifications:

  • Several years of experience in construction project management within the property sector.
  • Academic education in construction, civil engineering, property, or equivalent.
  • Experience in procurement of consulting services and contracts.
  • Experience working in a politically governed organization is an advantage.
  • Driving license B is a requirement.

We are looking for someone who is a civil engineer and/or has extensive project management experience in construction or related fields. It is an advantage if you have experience of how a municipal organization operates. You are skilled at identifying problem areas and seeing alternative solutions combined with a cost-effective approach. At the same time, you recognize that it takes time to implement changes and achieve optimal solutions. As a person, you are analytical and strategic, with a strong business sense and the ability to see the big picture. You have high social competence and are skilled at building long-term and sustainable relationships. You are proactive and driven, always ready to take the initiative and push projects forward. Your work style is characterized by structure, and you have an excellent ability to organize your work. Furthermore, you are humble and unpretentious and enjoy working in a team, where you highly value collaboration.
